Mangawhai Hills College follows the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) curriculum, using Pearson EdExcel resources. We are in the process of becoming a registered international exam provider, recognised by universities and employers worldwide. This curriculum offers a broad range of subjects and provides a structured yet flexible, skills-based approach to learning.
This is a major point of difference. We have a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 20:1, ensuring personalised attention and a supportive learning environment.
Tuition fees are $16,000 per annum (incl. GST), paid $4,000 per term in advance. These fees are non-refundable. A one-off enrolment application fee also applies. Receipts will be issued. If you require more information, please contact us.
The annual tuition fee covers:
Some additional costs will be payable as required. These include:
No, Mangawhai Hills College does not operate a formal enrolment zone. However, priority is given to students from Mangawhai and surrounding areas, including Waipu, Tomarata, and Kaiwaka.
Students are not allowed to use mobile phones at Mangawhai Hills College, but we do have a BYOD (bring your own device) policy. A student-owned, internet-capable device is an important part of every MHC student’s toolkit. There is still a place for books, paper and pens, but an approved digital device such as a laptop or tablet gives young learners instant access to unlimited resources, enabling them to support, extend, communicate and share their learning.
We have not put a uniform in place to start with and are currently finalising what elements of school uniform we will have with students and parents. We will provide details as soon as available.
Individual student learning needs will be discussed at the time of application and ongoing with family and caregivers. If there is extra support required for individual students this will be at the parents’ cost, unless provided through external funding such as ORS.
We welcome and greatly appreciate support from the wider community, especially during our establishment phase. If you have expertise or resources that could help such as IT, building, environmental planning, equipment donations, or fundraising skills, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us!
For our school’s ongoing operation, we will need to raise funds through donations, capital grants and student fees. If you can assist in any way, please get in touch. Funds from donations will also be used for future tuition scholarships.
